Five Events In Five Weeks At The Standard at Flagstaff

The NAU school year has just begun and we’re incredibly excited to have a new, amazing group of residents. To kick off a great year at The Standard at Flagstaff, we planned a calendar jam-packed with a variety of residence life events to give our residents and their friends the opportunity to meet and mingle with their neighbors and to enjoy spending time in our luxury amenities.

Week 1 – Breakfast & Plan

For our first resident event, we held a Breakfast and Plan in our Resident Club Room. During this event we gave out over 100 Chick-Fil-A biscuits and Daily Planners to our new residents. We had 150 residents in attendance and all received a biscuit or planner, or both! This event highlighted the importance of planning out your day, month and year.

Week 2 – Food Truck Friday

Week two, we held a Food Truck Friday in our Lower Level Retail area. This social event revolved around one of many local favorite Taco trucks, “Soto’s Locos Tacos”. Music and free tacos created a social atmosphere for both residents and staff to meet new residents. Conversations about the delicious tacos as well as the fact that we all live at The Standard quickly started and continued throughout the afternoon. There was over 200 residents who attended this event which made for a fun time.

Week 3 – Cycling Class At Cycle Bar Flagstaff

During our third week of resident events, we invited our resident to a cycling class at Cycle Bar Flagstaff. This event was inspired by the Peloton Bikes found in our Extensive Fitness Centers. The 18 residents who attended the cycling class received a 45min class, free drinks and snacks, and additional knowledge on the variety of exercises they can do when visiting the fitness center at The Standard.

Week 4 – Mario Kart Racing tournament

For our fourth event, several residents tested their driving skills in a Mario Kart Racing tournament. This event encouraged all participants to submit a $2 entry fee which would be donated to our local animal shelter. The winner of the race received a $100 GameStop gift card. Our Resident Club Room quickly filled with racers and spectators. This event helped promote the philanthropic aspect of living at The Standard.

Week 5 – The Standard’s Nature Hike

Our very last week we held The Standard’s Nature Hike at Aspen Loop. Aspen Loop is a short 1.5 mile hike full of fall colors and wildlife. The beautiful hike trail provided a relaxing and enjoyable time for all 8 residents.

Our team has had such an amazing time getting to meet our residents over the past 6 weeks. Here at The Standard at Flagstaff, we strive to create the best experience in NAU off campus housing and hosting a variety of awesome resident events is just one part of achieving that. Keep an eye out for more events to come, we’re looking forward to a great year!
